Outdoor Recreation
The Lake George area and surrounding Adirondack mountains offer dozens of hikes and miles of trails with stunning views, as well as renowned fishing in the many lakes, rivers and streams. Bring your bikes and explore the a 9.5-mile paved path to Glens Falls on the Warren County Bikeway, or test your skills on the mountain bike trails at Lake George Recreation Park, and nearby Gurney Lane and Rush Pond. Golfers can hit the links at Top of the World Golf or the Sagamore Golf Course.
On the Water
Lake George is perfect for swimming, boating, paddling and other water sports. Enjoy our private waterfront and kayaks, or, visit the public beaches at Shepard Park, Usher Park or Million Dollar Beach, or rent a boat or jet ski from a local marina. The Lake George area is also known for steamboat and sightseeing cruises, parasailing excursions and lake tours. You can also tube down the Hudson River or go whitewater rafting in nearby Lake Luzerne.

Lake George Village is a quintessential vacation town, dotted with souvenir shops, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors and pizza joints, but the area also offers more intimate fireside dining, patio seating, and sophisticated Adirondack cuisine. You’ll also find designer outlet shopping at the Factory Outlets of Lake George, family-run sporting goods stores, small boutiques, Adirondack furniture and treasured collectibles and antiques.
Family Fun
Spend the day riding the coasters and floating down the lazy river at Six Flags Great Escape fun park or challenge each other to a competitive game of putt-putt at one of the many mini golf courses. There’s also bowling, go karts, laser tag, and even a roller-skating rink in the area, as well as many arcades.
History & Arts
Known for its French and Indian War history, the Lake George region is home to many historic sites and museums. You can experience life in a British fort at the Fort William Henry Museum in Lake George Village or explore Fort Ticonderoga at the north end of the lake. For world-class art, just travel a few miles south to The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls. This museum rivals those of major metropolitan cities with more than 5,000 pieces of art from famous artists, including Rembrandt, Renoir, Degas and Picasso.
