Fall Things To Do In & Around Bolton Landing
Prospect Mountain Veteran’s Memorial Highway
Driving up the Prospect Mountain Veteran’s Memorial Highway is a great way to take in the fall views in Lake George – especially if you’re not up for hiking one of the local mountains. The highway is open daily from May 24th through November 11th, weather permitting. Be sure to check the hours and conditions before you go.
Up Yonda Farm
This environmental education center boasts more than 75 acres of natural beauty, including spectacular views of Lake George and the Adirondack mountains. Their museum is great for young families, and they host a variety of guided nature walks, educational programs, and other events throughout the fall. Hikes on Local Mountain Trails
There are dozens of trails throughout the Bolton Landing area, some ideal for experienced hikers and many perfect for families. For challenging hikes, be sure to check out the Tongue Mountain Range. For something on the easier side, check out Pilot Knob, Stewart’s Ledge, or The Pinnacle.
Lake George Village Oktoberfest & Fall Festival
If you’re staying with us during Columbus Day weekend, be sure to attend Oktoberfest in the Lake George Village. This three-day fall festival happens on Canada Street, with the area in front of Shepard Park transformed into a Bavarian-style street fair. Guests of all ages can enjoy music and dancing, rides, crafts and activities, local art, a beer garden, Bavarian food and more! Best of all – this event is FREE to attend!
Adirondack Brewery Oktoberfest
Also held during October, Adirondack Brewery’s Oktoberfest is a 21 and over event held at the Adirondack Pub & Brewery on Canada Street in Lake George. Tickets are typically available in advance, or you can purchase them at the door. Your ticket gets you access to an unlimited sampling of beer. wine and cider, plus a voucher for Bavarian food. You’ll also receive a beer stein, and have the opportunity to participate in games, costume contests, and more!
Six Flags Great Escape Fright Fest
On Saturdays and Sundays throughout October, Six Flags Great Escape hosts its annual – and very popular – Fright Fest. Attendees will enjoy family-friendly Halloween fun and attractions during the day and frightful thrills after 5PM. During Fright Fest, you’ll experience scary shows and haunted attractions, plus roller coasters and rides that are even more terrifying at night. Fright Fest tickets can be purchased online or at the park and range from $29-$150.
